Tempus Two Winery

The Tempus Two roots are firmly planted in one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, and one of Australia’s best known wine families, the McGuigans. Founder Lisa McGuigan is the fourth generation of a dynasty of celebrated vintners. Their iconic cellar door in the Hunter Valley’s Brokenback Ranges is just outside Pokolbin, and reflects their determination to blend the essence of tradition with the magic of innovation.

Launched in 1998 as Hermitage Road, in honour of the street on which Lisa grew up, the brand started small, in the corner of the McGuigan winery. The business grew rapidly, propelled by Lisa’s unique approach to marketing – success which brought the brand into the sights of the French Appellations body which took issue with her use of “Hermitage”, a protected wine region in the Rhone Valley. And so, Tempus Two, which is Latin for “second time” was born, creating a truly Australian iconic brand.

Their wines have always stood out, and apart, from the rest and there is a combination of style, substance and drama in their wines. They showcase familiar and new varietals in dramatic, innovative packaging which, as the first to think outside the packaging square, which has proved a stand-out success.

Never one for following tradition, Lisa’s vision for Tempus Two was to create a range of wines which look as fantastic as they taste and which showcase varietal and regional strengths. Their wines are recognized award winners, in Australia, and abroad.
